Experience the best of US history with a modern twist on this small-group tour of Philadelphia. See where the Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, take a photo of the Liberty Bell, visit where past presidents like George Washington lived, and learn about William Penn, Pennsylvania's founder. You’ll discover the lively neighborhood culture of Old City as you pass art galleries and cafes, and top off your outing with a refreshing beverage at a local establishment. Numbers are limited to 12 for a personalized experience with an informative guide.

Start your 2-hour tour at the Philly Tour Hub, where you can view local art and photography inside the historic building. Outside, get a glimpse of the Betsy Ross House and hear stories from your guide about the birth of the American flag.

From here, weave through the charming back alleys of Old City and walk down Elfreth's Alley, one of the country’s oldest continuously occupied residential streets. In this vibrant neighborhood, you’ll pass trendy cafes, shops, art galleries and buildings featuring industrial architecture.

When you reach Christ Church, where the Founding Fathers once worshiped, head inside (if it is open and available) to learn about the birth of the Episcopal Church in America. Then stop at a local coffee shop, where you may grab a quick snack or beverage (own expense) and relax with your guide — it’s the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you have about Philadelphia history.

As your small-group tour continues through the Historic District, pass Franklin Court — the site of Ben Franklin's home — and view Independence Mall, the National Constitution Center and the US Mint. Follow your guide across the Mall and visit the President's House, once the home of George Washington and John Adams during Philadelphia’s tenure as the nation's capital.

See the Liberty Bell, with the possibility of going inside, crowds permitting, and continue to the Curtis Center, where you’ll enter (weekdays only) for a view of Maxfield Parrish's Dream Garden, a beautiful mosaic mural.

Stroll Independence Mall - the three block section of Independence National Park and the must-see Independence Hall (tour does not enter Independence Hall), where the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution were signed. As you walk, learn about Congress Hall, Old City Hall, the Philosophical Society, the Second Bank of the US and Carpenter's Hall.

Making your way back to the Old City neighborhood, end the tour at a local establishment. Soak up the vibrant atmosphere of Philadelphia’s University City, home to the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) and Drexel University. Experience dynamic campus life as you follow your local guide to the universities’ prettiest and most historical buildings. Admire Victorian architecture in surrounding neighborhoods, explore a city park, pass a cemetery and enjoy tasty bites from street food vendors. End your tour with a trolley ride!

After meeting at 30th Street Station in the morning, you'll leave on foot down Market Street; stopping for a taste of the Caribbean at the first group of food truck stops. Down the road is Drexel University, a private research institution founded in 1891. Walk down one of the green quads and into the Main Building, the campus’ oldest building. Marvel at the classical Renaissance architecture and its splendid interior, the multi-story arcaded walls of the Grand Court, all virtually unchanged since the university's founding.

Walk down the hill past World Cafe Live, a live music venue, and enter Penn Park, a new green space with spectacular views of the Philadelphia skyline.

Pass some of the most iconic college sports venues in the country, such as Franklin Field and the Palestra, and then enter the heart of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) campus, which opened its doors in 1751 and credits Benjamin Franklin as its founder.

At Franklin Field you will reach the second group of food trucks during the heart of lunch hour as you make your way to Penn's campus.

Your guide will lead you past Fisher Library, an architectural masterpiece created by Frank Furness, and past College Hall, with its characteristic green hue. Enter Houston Hall, home of the country’s first Student Union, and then continue up Locust Walk, a picturesque campus promenade.

From there you will end up on Spruce Street with the third group of food trucks lining the streets and you'll be treated to something sweet at the final location.

Lastly you'll walk through hidden preserves and a pond on the campus making your way to the trolley stop where your guide will provide a token for each person, valid for a ride on the trolley. From this point, you'll have the choice to ride back to 30th Street or continue to Center City.
