This 9-hour tour of Amish Country includes round-trip transportation to and from your city center hotel in Philadelphia. After an early morning pickup, head to Amtrak's 30th street station, a historic train station where the Harrison Ford movie "The Witness" was filmed. Here, you'll begin your journey to Lancaster.
Upon arrival in Lancaster County, you will travel to the Amish Experience tour center to spend a fun-filled day of sightseeing, shopping and tasting delectable home style cooking. Get away from the fast-paced urban lifestyle to a slower way of living along back country roads. Learn about the Amish lifestyle, the community, and culture. As a vital part of Lancaster County culture, the Amish are involved in agriculture as well as an array of businesses and cottage industries.

Discover Amish Country on this day trip from New York City for up to five guests. Experience the everyday life of the Amish, their community, customs and culture on a private tour led by an Amish or Mennonite guide living in that community. Throughout the tour, there is first-hand exposure to the people, practices and places of the 40,000 Amish living in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Visit their farms, bakeries, markets, quilt shops, mills and more on this exciting and memorable visit.

Your private driver-guide will meet your group at the New York City location of your choice at whatever time is best for you.  You will then travel approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes to Amish Country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. There you will meet up with your Amish or Mennonite guide and head out on a 6-hour adventure roaming and exploring the beautiful Amish countryside for the day.
Early in the visit, stop at an all-you-can-eat family-style restaurant where Amish food is prepared and served (not included in the cost of the tour). You will visit at least one of each of the following during the day: an Amish quilt shop; farm; farmers' market; water powered mill; country store; covered bridge; bake shop and more.

Lancaster County is located approximately 90 minutes outside of Philadelphia and has been home to Amish and Mennonite communities for generations. The tour includes a drive along country roads that crisscross the area, while learning about the history, philosophies, and culture of the Amish and Mennonite people from the tour guide.
Depending upon the length of the tour, activities for the day may include an Amish buggy ride, visiting a local bakery, and/or touring a museum to see how the Amish have lived for more than two centuries. Enjoy lunch at a classic Pennsylvania Dutch Smorgasbord or market, and check out some of the many local craft and quilt shops for the perfect Amish souvenir.
